Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." (James 5:16)

Praying with New Life Church

The intention of this page is to advise on current, general matters for prayer. The weekly prayer bulletin publishes more specific needs. To be added to the e-mail list for the weekly prayer bulletin, or to request that your matter for praise or prayer be added to it, please contact pastor Keith.

New Life Church's Services, Ministries, Mission

Pray for the preaching of the Word, the presence of the Spirit, and for love and unity to continue with purity always.

Parents, elders, other teachers need prayer support as they rightly divide the word.

At present (Summer 2008) no Ruling Elders who are members of New Life are serving on our Session (board of elders). A "borrowed Elder" from another congregation is serving on a temporary basis. Pray for this "ad hoc" Session as it seeks to guide the congregation.

Our congregation has a benevolence fund, a.k.a. Deacon's fund. On the first Lord's day of each month, a special offering is taken for this fund. Pray according to James 1:5 regarding how we should use it to the glory of God.

Pray for our widows, widowers, and shut-ins. Pray for children in our midst who share in the life of the congregation without their parents doing so with them. "Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." (James 1:27)

Pray for the relatives of New Life members and friends who are in military service, especially those overseas.

Seven members of the New Life congregation have been constituted as a Building Committee responsible for the renovation of the building God has given us. Lord willing, they will see this project through from planning to finishing touches. Let's support them in prayer.

Looking Outward

Seek the Lord of the harvest for those laboring in other parts of His great vineyard: the Burches, trainers of foreign missionaries, Harvest U.S.A. (Rev. David Longacre), ChAIM (Fred Klett), and for our missionary to the Muslim world who works through the P.C.A.'s overseas missions agency.

Unsaved loved ones. Are we laboring in loving prayer, asking a loving God to act mightily in sovereign grace to SAVE THEM?

Some who were once part of New Life have departed. Pray for their return, especially for covenant children who have strayed from the faith.

Health

Several in our midst suffer with chronic health issues. Don't forget them before God's throne of grace, even if they never complain about their struggles.

A Permanent Prayer Request

1 Timothy 2:1,2 reads"Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence."

Pray specifically for the President, the U.S. Congress, and the nine justices of the Supreme Court. Pray specifically for New Jersey's governor and for state legislators and other judges. Learn the names of those serving in your municipal goverments and pray specifically for them. Pray that these men and women will be brought to repentance and faith by the power of the Holy Spirit.

As we pray for our governing authorities, pray also for our nation's military service men and women who are in harm's way, and for the chaplains who serve them.

Let's soberly consider that the horror of abortion on demand still exists in our land. Fervently ask God to STOP IT!
